November 2025

November was a month of launches, edits, and a lot of time spent on my feet at Cedar Grove.

This month, I led more tours and continued getting comfortable working with a wide range of visitor groups. Each tour looks a little different depending on who shows up, and I have been learning how to adapt existing content and adjust my tour style based on the group. I also spent time editing and refining a Wintertime Tour that will run a few times in December. Preparing this tour meant thinking about how the site changes in the colder months and how to help visitors imagine daily life at Cedar Grove during the winter.

One of the biggest milestones of my fellowship happened in November. I officially finished the Audio Walking Tour, which is now live on the Bloomberg Connects app! Seeing visitors actively use the audio tour on site has been incredibly rewarding. Knowing that people are choosing to explore the grounds and stories at their own pace through something I helped create has made all the work that went into the project feel worth it.

After launching the walking tour, I began editing audio interviews I have collected from other contributors. These recordings will be used in future interpretation and programming, and it has been exciting to start shaping them into something visitors will eventually experience. I also helped prepare for upcoming holiday events, which has meant shifting focus toward seasonal programming and end-of-year planning.

This month, I also started working with board member Warner Shook, who has a background in Broadway and storytelling. We have been developing a personal narrative together with the goal of strengthening my public speaking skills and becoming more confident when presenting to an audience.

Outside of work, November marked a real shift in the season. The weather has gotten much colder, snow feels like it is right around the corner, and I am officially preparing for my first Catskills winter. I also spent Thanksgiving with my family, which was a nice break and a good chance to reset before heading into a busy December.

Overall, November was a month of progress, launches, and preparation. A lot of long-term projects moved forward, and I am heading into December feeling excited about what is next.
