EDITORIAL & JOURNALISM
My love of writing started back in my high school newspaper class. I was hooked on the writing buzz after my first article sophomore year, and by senior year I was Editor-in-Chief. I carried those skills into undergrad and kept building them beyond the classroom through my internship at Raleigh Magazine and my work with the student newspaper.
I’m comfortable switching tone based on audience and publication voice, and I take style seriously—I’m an AP Style guide warrior, an SEO-minded writer and a meticulous copyeditor. I also bring experience on the design side of print media (InDesign) and my user-centered design training from undergrad means I’m always thinking about audience needs and the analytics behind what actually resonates. I have experience with social media, web and newsletter writing, and I’m excited to keep expanding my skill set wherever the work takes me.
My interests live at the intersection of arts, culture, news, and lifestyle.

My Last Editor’s Note for the Myers Park Hoofprint <3 Raleigh Magazine
At Raleigh Magazine, I was the editorial intern during my senior spring semester. I learned so much about how the magazine world actually works and gained real-world experience writing on tight deadlines, switching writing voices from my academic work, and being part of a small, tight-knit group of powerhouse women running the show.
I’ve continued writing with the team since my internship ended, which has been a great way to stay in the know with Raleigh happenings from hundreds of miles away. Below is a little “highlight reel” of some of my favorite pieces—find more of my work on the Raleigh Magazine website and if you find yourself in the City of Oaks, keep an eye out for the monthly print issue.

I worked as a Layout Designer for the NC State student newspaper, spending Tuesday nights laying out the weekly print edition. It was a mix of creative problem-solving and real-world production work—learning how to push design within the constraints of a traditional newspaper format and getting very comfortable working inside InDesign’s production files.
